Bio

Ciella is a Darwin born and based writer, dramaturg, performer and emerging director.

Her writing is embedded in and reflective of the NT and concerned with underrepresented voices and stories.

She is a member of the IGNITE Collective, an initiative of New Ghosts Theatre, creating new work for women aged 20-30. Her full-length work Hush is scheduled for production in 2021, and was shortlisted for the 2020 NT Literary Awards in the Drama category.  Earlier works have been performed at Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP), Brown’s Mart Theatre, Darwin Fringe Festival and Short + Sweet Sydney.

Ciella works as a freelance dramaturg, and is currently running the ATYP Fresh Ink program for emerging NT writers.

In 2021 she directed Highway of Lost Hearts by Mary Anne Butler for Brown’s Mart Theatre.

Recent acting credits include Hillbilly Horror (Royal National Theatre of Jingili, 2016, 2018), Turquoise Elephant by Stephen Carleton (Knock-em-down Theatre, 2018), A Doll’s House by Henrik Ibsen (Brown’s Mart, 2017), and Broken by Mary Anne Butler (Knock-em-Down Theatre, 2015 and 2016).
